Boating is suitable for every type of weather during Liberation Day
The weather varies quite a bit during Liberation Day. The coldest Liberation Day was close to freezing, and the warmest was close to 30 degrees. We even had a white Liberation Day. Fortunately, at Boot Huren Amsterdam you are not dependent on the weather. We have open sloops where you can enjoy the sun. Three tips to celebrate freedom in Amsterdam
There is plenty to do from and on the water during Liberation Day in Amsterdam. Various events are organized throughout the (inner) city. You can often enjoy it for free. Our three tips for this day:
- Tip 1: You can enjoy a freedom meal at about 100 locations in Amsterdam. Tens of thousands of Amsterdammers move together. Many meals are free. We are happy to take you to one of the freedom meals.
- Tip 2: The Liberation Festival is held every year in the Westerpark. Various bands and DJs perform on seven different stages. We are happy to drop you off at the festival after a nice boat trip. Or we will pick you up there.
- Tip 3: Traditionally, Liberation Day is concluded with the Concert on the Amstel. A unique music event on the water conducted by the Metropole Orkest and where the royal family are present as guests of honour. Entrance is free.
